T.E. Lawrence

T.E. Lawrence was an Oxford graduate turned Archaeologist who formed a deep love for all things Arabic during a study trip in Syria. Once England declared war Lawrence was eager to join soon being deployed in the British Army. During his time in the British Army he would become a liaison officer, and become a part of the Great Arab Revolt. Lawrence and his Arabic partners would be victorious in conquering Aqaba. After this Lawrence would spread his positive point of view of the Arabs across London. He would see how the Western Leaders disregarded the Arabic voice. A few years later Churchill would call upon Lawrence, and together they would create a Pro-Arab settlement. What I found most interesting about TE Lawrence was how he did all these amazing accomplishments but wanted no credit with the public. He wanted to stay lowkey and humble no matter his accomplishments. People think he is such an important person as he made major progress in creating relations between London, and the Middle East. He also gave people of Arab decent a new platform to speak that they didn’t have before. I see TE Lawrence as an amazing person who not only greatly helped out the people of the Middle East but did it while maintaining a humble background.
