Week 5 post 1

Yes Islam is most definitely a peaceful religion. Despite what most people think Islam at its core is a religion of freedom, love, peace, and tolerance. Direct quotes from the Holy Book the Quran shows this. “O You who believe! Enter absolutely into peace (Islam). Do not follow in the footsteps of satan. He is an outright enemy to you.” (Holy Quran: 2, 208) “You may fight in the cause of God against those who attack you but do not aggress. God does not love the aggressors.” (Holy Quran: 2, 190) These are direct quotes from the Quran that prove Islam is a religion of peace. Muslims believe in utmost peace unless your home is being threatened. It is media that portrays Islam in such a violent light, they skip over all the peaceful parts of Islam and skip to the violent parts. They are tricking Americans to make it seem like Islam is the enemy when they are just as if not more peaceful then Christians.
